SHERIFF DEPUTIES

Paulding County currently employs eight full-time Sheriff Deputies who provide services 24/7 to its residents while patrolling county roads and highways.

Sheriff Deputies' duties include investigating traffic accidents, thefts, burglaries, domestic disputes and other criminal activities.

The Deputies also assist the Courts by serving court papers including subpoenas, summons and warrants. Ohio Revised Code gives the Sheriff's Offices county-wide jurisdiction. Paulding County Sheriff's Office focuses on the rural and unincorporated villages and townships that do not have local law enforcement. They provide assistance to any local agency in the county when needed along with responding to 911 calls whenever necessary.

Training includes firearm qualifications, maintaining continued education requirements through the Attorney General's office. The Attorney General's office provides on-line courses that can be accessed 24/7 by deputies allowing them to obtain EPOTA certification. Deputies must keep up-to-date with any changes in the Ohio Revised Code.
